House in Surrey

This was a brief that required both a high-tech and environmentally sustainable approach to create a new leisure wing for our client’s Surrey home. Extensive planning regulations were required; this was a special policy area and sustainable construction methods demanded closer attention. The final design of the new wing resulted in a pool sunk below ground level with a grass hillock above it. A gym complex complete with sauna and an entertainment suite was suspended between the floors, jutting out over the swimming pool. Various sustainable energy solutions were integrated into the scheme, including voltaic cells and a heat exchanger.

A proposal was also made to redesign the interior of the main house. This phase of the project was worked on with Candy & Candy. The outside of the house needed to be made more visually alluring too. We used clever techniques to change the fenestration patterns and rendered bands to change the appearance of the outside.
